TP Organics Call on IoT solutions for Sustainable Diets

How do we move organic food and farming forward to ensure sustainability & health of our food systems? Innovation is one of the answers.

Diets and eating habits are an essential part of sustainable food systems. The consumption of, and access to fresh, regional, seasonal and organic food needs to be improved. But values and knowledge that consumers have about sustainable food do not correlate with their behaviour. This value-action gap prevents progress towards sustainable food systems. European technology platform TP Organics calls for innovations that can close this gap. Special attention needs to be paid to vulnerable groups like children, people living in poverty and social exclusion, rural communities or minorities. Possible innovations include developing ICT, Internet of Things, blockchain technologies and big data tools that provide consumers with transparent, reliable and relevant information about sustainability impact of food.

Are you a farmer, researcher or a tech company that have an innovative solution for making our diets more sustainable? Then apply for the 2017 TP Organics’ Call for Innovations and get your solution the spotlight it deserves!

The call closes on 1 September 2017. The authors of the best solutions will have the opportunity to present their innovation at the third edition of the Organic Innovation Days on 15-17 November 2017 in Brussels.

You will find the full description of the themes, call timeline and instructions for the submission here.
