Interview with Dr. Ivan Andonovic

In order to remain competitive on the world market, the European dairy sector needs to reduce its environmental impact and increase animal welfare, while at the same time reducing inputs and improving productivity. This is when the IoT solutions developed by the Internet of Food & Farm (IoF)2020 project come in.

But how can the combination of real‐time sensor data gathered from neck collars, machine learning technologies and cloud-based services help the sector become more competitive and sustainable? We asked Dr. Ivan Andonovic, Professor at the University of Strathclyde and technical chair of the IoF2020 dairy trial, to give us some insights on how the dairy trial is aiming to achieve this over the next years.
