Interview with Jarissa Maselyne

Meat production accounts for 24.8% of overall EU agricultural output. As a crucuial sector for European agriculture, meat production faces a myriad of challenges including animal welfare, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), climate change and increased competition from third countries. The Internet of Food & Farm (IoF)2020 meat trial develops Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to address these challenges.

We asked Jarissa Maselyne, ecosystem trial chair of the IoF2020 meat trial and researcher at the Flanders Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO), to share with us the meat trials plans aimed at enhancing transparency and traceability in European meat production.
