Challenges and opportunities for interregional cooperation in agri-food systems
The workshop on 'Challenges and opportunities for interregional cooperation in agri-food systems' is going to take place on 10 October, between 09:30h – 11:00h in Brussels Belgium. The objective of the workshop organised by DG RTD in cooperation with JRC, DG AGRI and DG REGIO is to showcase and discuss five interregional partnerships participating in the Thematic Smart Specialisation Platform on Agri-Food.
These five partnerships are (1) Consumer Involvement in Agri-food Innovation; (2) High Tech Farming; (3) Nutritional Ingredients; (4) Smart sensor systems for agri-food, and (5) Traceability & Big Data. This will be followed by a panel discussion on achievements, challenges and opportunities for transregional cooperation in agri-food systems and in fostering quadruple helix innovation. Some of key issues discussed during the workshop focus on overcoming regulatory obstacles for investment, understanding financial instruments, improving governance and interoperability, as well as responding to skills and training needs.
