IoT Vertical and Topical Summit for Agriculture
The IEEE IoT Vertical and Topical Summit on Agriculture is going to address the implementation of IoT solutions in a local setting. Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the Region of Tuscany in Italy. Thus, the event with the theme “The Digital Revolution – Farming 4.0!” will take place in Monteriggioni (Siena) Tuscany between 8 and 9 May 2018.
The summit features two days devoted to the agricultural life cycle – from growth, to processing, to distribution, retailing, and consumption. The plenary presentations are supposed to provide and overview of IoT and underlying technologies from leading experts and practitioners.
The three main areas of focus are:
- Agriculture (Viticulture, Horticulture, Orchards, Cereal Crops, Animal Husbandry)
- Products (Grapes, Vegetables, Fruits, Staples, Cured Meats)
- Technologies (Sensors, Automation, Data & Analytics, Domain Specific Technologies, Communications & Connectivity)
